The Road To Salonica (Ντοκιμαντέρ Θεσσαλονίκη 2012)

Once a prominent mound in the landscape, today it is blocked by high-rise buildings in a Thessaloniki’s district named “Toumpa”. An archaeological excavation, in progress for the last 28 years, has uncovered a prehistoric settlement, which coexisted with Mycenae, Knossos and Troy. However, neither the mound, nor its history are commonly known. Nonetheless, if one gets familiar with this mound, s/he will discover that Greek history is not only written with marble and gold. There are “buried” parts that hide “treasures” at least as valuable as those which shine and appropriate to contribute to the deciphering of present reality.
